The fabulous beauty of the island of Santorini, in the Cyclades archipelago, is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece. According to legend, the five islands of the archipelago are the remnants of the former greatness of Atlantis, which went under water. Now hundreds of thousands of tourists come to sunbathe on the volcanic beaches of the islands and admire the snow-white houses molding on the rocks. We spent only two amazing days in Santorini. We managed to climb the volcano, swim in hot volcanic springs, visited three wineries and an interesting wine museum. And of course we had time to enjoy the famous Santorini wines: Nykteri, Caldera and, of course, Vinsanto. Find out more in our film. We visited two wonderful cities in Santorini. Fira is the capital of Santorini. It is located in the very middle of the island. After spending a busy day in Fira, we went for romance in the town of Oia, or Oia. It is believed to be the most atmospheric place in Santorini. We wanted to walk in this magical place with white and blue churches, windmills, swim on the wild beach in Amoudi Bay and admire the sunset in any restaurant with an amazing view of the caldera. Oh, this magical and unique Oya! A small village that has been preserved since the times of the Venetian rule. The sunsets are amazing here. The most popular spot in Oia is the observation deck at the Venetian fortress, which offers stunning views of the caldera. At sunset, this place is full of people at any time of the year. If you go down to the sea along a winding staircase, you will find yourself in the Amoudi bay, walking to the left past the taverns of 300 meters along steep passes, you will find yourself on a wild beach in the rocks, an atmospheric place with beautiful views of the island and amazingly clear transparent water.
