We Built a HALF-PETABYTE Home Server… This Got Out of Hand

We built a home file server with over 500TB of raw storage… and immediately started finding problems. In this video, we fire up our 36-bay Supermicro server, troubleshoot drive and backplane issues, dig through old enterprise hardware, and begin setting up Proxmox on our homelab servers. The bigger plan includes clustering, high availability, virtualized pfSense routers, PCIe passthrough, shared storage, and plenty of questionable decisions along the way.
