Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho," leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), is public enemy number one in both Mexico and the United States. Both countries are offering multimillion-dollar rewards for information leading to his location and arrest, Mexican federal authorities confirmed. In 1994, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California sentenced him to three years in prison for conspiring to distribute heroin in the United States. After his release, Nemesio Oseguera returned to Mexico, where he worked as a police officer in Cabo Corrientes and Tomatlán, Jalisco. However, El Mencho left the police force to continue his criminal activities.
