Upgrading my allotment water management with the Bosch Home and Garden Cordless Water pump
I was gifted (to test) the full pump kit (linked below) last year and I've made plenty of use of it since then and I recommend it, but only if you need to move a lot of water around quickly (siphons are great if you don't mind moving water slowly). That might be if you are watering directly with pumped water (I don't usually do this, preferring a watering can and dip tank) or moving water between storage tanks (which I do a lot of). This year I was gifted a new product, or a repackaging of the existing product, minus the battery and power supply unit. This second location kit allows you to have two pumps permanently installed and just move the power between the two locations. I set it up today and it's perfect for my use case. I don't have two permanent locations, but I do have one. The second pump will be a mobile one, to loan out to allotment friends and for all of my secondary storage on the plot and at home. I'm not sure I can say that I recommend this kit, it's a bit of a luxury item, but if you have a use case for it and move a lot of water around then it's definitely worth considering. If you are new to my allotment videos you might find a bit of context useful. We live in the north west of England, in Lytham St Annes, which I believe is the equivalent of USA Zone 8. The garden is about ½ a mile from the sea, the allotment about a mile, it’s fairly mild, but very windy. A lot of people ask about the databases and apps that I mention in the videos, I make these are freely available, for more check out these blog posts https://steves.seasidelife.com/catego...
