I never thought I’d say this about a glider, but the AVIOS KOBUZ completely changed my expectations. This was my maiden flight with the KOBUZ from HobbyKing, and what started as a simple test quickly turned into something special. At first glance, it looks like a classic RC sailplane — with long wings, a sleek fuselage, and quiet, stable flight. But once it’s in the air, it becomes clear this isn’t just a relaxed cruiser. The KOBUZ glides effortlessly and floats with incredible efficiency, yet still responds with precision when pushed. It’s rare to find a radio-controlled glider that feels this smooth in the air and still has the ability to pull off confident aerobatics, loops, rolls, and more.. all with ease. We’ll be adding head-tracking FPV for a true in-cockpit experience, possibly integrating a working live screen inside the canopy, and even testing out a thermal sensor system to help us actually find thermals in real time.
