Consecration of the Home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus We are yours, and we wish to remain yours. Humbly prostrate before your sacred image, we consecrate to you our persons, our home, and our family, with all that we are and all that we have. Reign in our home as in a home that belongs to you, and do not allow what we have consecrated to you with all our hearts to be taken from you. Lovingly pour out upon us the blessings you have promised to those who venerate your sacred image. Enrich us with the peace enjoyed by families who belong to your Heart. Have mercy on those who, ungrateful, have turned away from you. Enlighten those who do not yet know the riches of your love; draw them to you with the gentleness of your grace. Sanctify, Sweet Redeemer, our home and our family, so that, having finished the race of this life in peace, we may go on to praise you in the eternal mansion of glory. Amen. After thirty days contemplating the immense love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we arrive at the most important moment of this spiritual journey. Today we are not finishing a series. Today we are making a commitment. On this final day, we will meditate on the meaning of consecrating our lives and our homes to the Heart of Christ, and we will pray one of the most beautiful prayers in the tradition of the Church: the Consecration of the Home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which begins with the words: "Most sweet Heart of Jesus: we are yours and we wish to remain yours..." This consecration is a loving response to the One who loved us first. It is opening the doors of our family so that Christ may reign within it with his peace, his mercy, and his blessing.
