Bobóto Stole the Show… Then His Keeper Introduced Us to the Whole Family

Bobóto the gorilla stole the show during our visit to Krefeld Zoo in Germany! This eight-year-old blackback gorilla couldn’t contain his excitement when feeding time arrived, clapping and bowing as he waited for his favorite treats. But this visit was about much more than a funny gorilla moment. We were fortunate to spend time with gorilla keeper Ben, who introduced us to the Krefeld Zoo gorilla troop and shared the unique personalities of each member of this amazing gorilla family. Watch as the gorillas forage for food throughout their habitat, search for hidden vegetables, and learn about Bobóto, silverback Kidogo, Santu, and the rest of the troop from someone who knows them best. Krefeld Zoo is home to a fascinating group of western lowland gorillas, and seeing their natural behaviors, social bonds, and individual personalities was an unforgettable experience.
