The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, "The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen," Major General Turki al-Maliki, stated that the Houthi militia's statements yesterday against the Kingdom are nothing more than an attempt to divert attention from their grave violations against the brotherly Yemeni people. Through these statements, they seek to export the economic problems and suffering of the Yemeni people, which they themselves have caused, and to cover up the tribal and social rejection they face by shifting the blame to Yemen's regional neighbors and countries. Major General Al-Maliki explained that such allegations are an extension of the Houthi militia's escalation and hostile behavior and its attempts to undermine regional and international security. The Kingdom, the Coalition, and international partners have undertaken initiatives and efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people resulting from the Houthi militia's coup. They have also worked to resolve the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap that was accepted by the Yemeni government but rejected by the Houthi militia. Furthermore, the Houthis have gone even further by rejecting solutions for a lasting peace and attacking maritime shipping lanes and global trade in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, thereby exposing the Yemeni people's resources to targeting and widespread destruction at the ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Issa, as well as Sana'a International Airport. This also includes the infrastructure of power plants, factories, and other economic assets of the Yemeni people. Major General Al-Maliki also affirmed that the Coalition will respond decisively and with unprecedented force to counter any attempts to target the Kingdom, its citizens, and its national assets, or any attempts to violate the sovereignty of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
