भारत की नई एयर डिफेंस ताकत V-SHORADS को रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद की मंजूरी मिल गई है. DRDO द्वारा विकसित यह स्वदेशी मैन-पोर्टेबल मिसाइल सिस्टम 6 किलोमीटर तक की दूरी पर ड्रोन, हेलिकॉप्टर और कम ऊंचाई पर उड़ने वाले विमानों को मार गिराने में सक्षम है. इसकी मल्टी-स्पेक्ट्रल सीकर तकनीक दुश्मन के इलेक्ट्रॉनिक जामिंग और फ्लेयर को भी मात दे सकती है. फिलहाल इसका ट्राइपॉड वर्जन तैयार है, जबकि जल्द ही कंधे से दागा जाने वाला हल्का वर्जन भी आएगा. विशेषज्ञ इसे भारतीय सेना की नई ‘छुटकू S-400’ ढाल मान रहे हैं. India's new air defense asset, V-SHORADS, has received approval from the Defence Acquisition Council. Developed by the DRDO, this indigenous man-portable missile system is capable of shooting down drones, helicopters, and low-flying aircraft at a range of up to 6 kilometers. Its multi-spectral seeker technology can also counter enemy electronic jamming and flares. Currently, the tripod-mounted version is ready, while a lightweight, shoulder-fired version is set to be introduced soon.
