Govt to continue working with different nations for safe voluntary repatriation of their citizens
Minister of Justice and chair of the Interministerial Committee on Migration, Mmamoloko Kubayi has reiterated that the South African government is actively cooperating with the governments of Nigeria, Ghana and Malawi to facilitate the safe and voluntary repatriation of their citizens. This follows the departure yesterday of the first group of Malawians made up of women and children, who were seeking shelter at the Sherwood hall grounds since last Sunday. Over the weekend, seven buses arrived in Sherwood to transport thousands of hopeful migrants. The first 1,140 Malawians processed at Durban repatriation site are reported to have been undocumented. But for the latest update there, we cross live to our reporter Nonhlakanipho Magwaza. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
