Le Pure 42 pour aller vite et loin
Founded just two years ago, the Pure shipyard is run by three partners whose extensive experience in the field has resulted in a particularly well-designed boat. This is evident first and foremost in the exterior design, with a visually seamlessly integrated coachroof, despite the deck saloon and the well-protected cockpit – a real feat on a boat of "only" 42 feet. Under sail, everything is designed for single-handed or short-handed sailing, with the vast majority of lines led back to two electric winches forward of the twin helm stations, within easy reach of the helmsman. The deep cockpit offers a strong sense of security, enhanced by the coachroof which partially protects it, and provides a comfortable place to settle in, sheltered from spray, during long passages. The aluminum hull of this sailboat is impossible to miss; it will certainly be capable of taking you far, safely, even in high latitudes. However, the idea is clearly to enjoy sailing and to go fast: twin rudders, a lifting bulb keel, a square-top mainsail, carbon rigging, ideal weight distribution, and maximum lightness of all linings, bulkheads, and lockers, among other things. Apparently, at Pure, long-distance cruising is not incompatible with sailing performance! And in terms of interior design, we are also pleasantly surprised: a deck saloon offering a 360° view, ideal for watchkeeping in particular; no handrails, but thick wooden gunwales along the sides; a double guest cabin with a bed cleverly positioned under the deck saloon; a single but generously sized bathroom with a proper shower; and a separate toilet. A beautiful owner's cabin awaits at the bow, offering ample storage, as well as a customizable "individual" space: a desk, a single or double berth, or even a double armchair with a small cognac cellar… future owners can let their imaginations run wild.
