IMPREVISTO A 3400 MT Rifugio Quintino Sella al Felik Valle d'Aosta
Dawn illuminates the peaks of Monte Rosa as I prepare for my hike. Today, my goal is to reach the Quintino Sella al Felik Refuge, at 3,585 meters above sea level. The starting point is Staffal, in the Aosta Valley. Choosing not to take the chairlift, I set out on trail 1, a rarely used route that has always fascinated me. The trail winds through a forest of larch and fir trees, offering evocative views of the surrounding mountains. As I approach Colle Bettolina Inferiore, the vegetation thins out and the panorama opens up. At the pass, I meet a group of climbers descending from the refuge. They tell me the climb was challenging, but the view from the top is spectacular. From here, trail 9 begins, which will lead me to the refuge. The climb is steep and challenging, but the view is breathtaking. After about three hours of walking, I reach an altitude of 3,400 meters. I'm tired, but determined to reach my goal. But just as I'm about to reach the final stretch of the trail, I realize I'm not feeling well. I feel weak and fatigued. I think I should give up, but then I remember why I started this hike. I wanted to see the Quintino Sella Refuge with my own eyes, and I didn't want to give up. So, with difficulty, I reach the equipped section. The view that opens up before me is incredible. The refuge is located on an alpine plateau, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. But I don't have the strength to continue. I sit on a rock and look around. The view is stunning. I feel frustrated, but not disappointed. I've faced a difficult challenge and learned something important: it's important to listen to your body and know how to give up when necessary. I get up and walk back to the starting point. The descent is slow and tiring, but finally, after a few hours, I arrive in Staffal. I'm tired, but also satisfied. I've faced a difficult challenge and learned something important: it's important to listen to your body and know how to give up when necessary.
