Introduction In Ezekiel 6: 8-14, we understand God's promises to spare a remnant in the midst of the painful punishment of the sword, famine, and plague. When these survivors are scattered among the nations, they will remember God and be grieved by their unfaithful hearts. They will hate themselves" for their sins and finally recognize Yahweh as the one true God. God tells Ezekiel to turn his face toward the "mountains of Israel" to prophesy against the high places. Because the people chose to worship false gods on hilltops and under green trees rather than at the temple, God vows to destroy these pagan altars and lay the idolaters dead among their false gods. Lastly Ezekiel is instructed to physically act out God’s grief—clapping his hands and stamping his feet—to express the gravity of Israel’s abominations. The prophecy concludes by outlining a desperate end through sword, famine, and plague. Yet, the ultimate purpose of this severe punishment is clearly established: Israel will know that He alone is the Lord. Facebook : @Deliverance Church Ngong
