E151 - KTM Nerds Try BMW GS 1250s in the Dirt

What a delight it is to try new things! As our tastes for adventure evolve, we are moving towards a lot of road (not loved) to get to BDRs (loved), and then back home. Our KTM's (790 Rally, 890 Adventure R, 990 Adventure R) are great off road, but they are literally painful to ride on road (unless standing) for longer journeys. We took off the KTM blinders and looked around. The Touratech Rally was an eye opener. 50% BMW bikes (1,500 bikes). The speakers presenting their MONSTER journeys, mostly BMW. Hmmm, perhaps we need to get out of our "KTM is best because off-road is all that matters" mindset? If the journey to the ride is dreadful, it should not be ignored. It is a big part of the overall program. Am I selling my KTM bikes, hello no! Back off!
