Today we started our journey from the Rajgir Malmas Mela to the stunning Kakolat Waterfall in Nawada district. Located around 35 km from Nawada Railway Station via Bakhtiyarpur–Thali route, the waterfall witnessed a massive crowd even before sunrise. Although the gate opens at 7 AM, thousands of tourists had already gathered from 4–5 AM due to the growing popularity of this “Mini Kashmir of Bihar.” However, visitors were seen protesting against the sudden 10x hike in entry and parking charges. The ₹10 weekday ticket has now become ₹100, while weekend tickets jumped from ₹20 to ₹200. Parking fees also increased sharply, with cars being charged ₹200 and bikes ₹100. We spoke to several locals and tourists, especially women, who expressed strong anger over the price hike. As soon as the gate opened, people rushed inside with great excitement. Inside, the atmosphere looked like a natural water park where thousands were enjoying bathing under the breathtaking waterfall flowing from nearly 150 feet above.
