Avatar EMP-16 Trigger Pads Review and Demo

The Avatar EMP-16 Trigger Pad Controller is a joy to setup because all of the pads sliders and knob settings can be edited from the front panel. The setups can be saved and accessed by way of four memory bank locations above the trigger pads. The EMP-16 has a sturdy case and the pads and controls feel nice. I found that I had to use a little extra force to trigger sounds in the "Normal" velocity mode, but I set all the pads to "Soft" sensitivity mode and the response was better. You can set the velocity curves for each pad separately as well as momentary, latch, after touch and Midi note numbers. The EMP-16 can also be connected directly to other Midi keyboards and drum machines with the supplied 1/8 inch to 5-Pin Midi barrel connector, which I demonstrate towards the end of the video.
