The new type of generator may seem very familiar and similar to the old tractor ones, but believe me, there's little left of the tractor type. But first things first. As before, the new generators from Sergey Krasny fit all our boxer engines, namely the Ural and Dnepr motorcycles. With an adapter, they can be installed on the K-750 or M-72, and this generator will even fit the new Ural without any problems. Generators vary in power. I installed a kilowatt (1000W) generator on my Ural motorcycle, and a 700W generator on my Dnepr motorcycle. But a new, small-scale 1400W version has also appeared, which I will be installing on my Ural Hercules trike, nicknamed MOTODICH. The most important difference is the new mounting plate. Previously, it was taken from the old G424 opposed generator. Now, a completely new generator mount has been developed, manufactured on a CNC machine. This mounting plate is made of D16 aluminum and then anodized, which improves oxidation resistance and is also aesthetically pleasing. Thanks to the reinforced mounting ears, the generator mount is more secure and no longer bends under its own weight, as it used to. The plate's mounting to the generator itself has also been improved. While the G424 mount was previously held in place by three bolts, the new plate now uses four bolts, which are more symmetrically spaced, allowing for a more even load distribution. The new generators no longer require sealant or gaskets, as the new mounting plate features a special groove for the included rubber sealing ring. This design is borrowed from the new Ural motorcycles. This generator's shaft is turned on a lathe, after which a keyway is machined on a CNC milling machine. You might remember how I had to saw off the third mount on these generators and then polish the cut. No more hassle. The manufacturer removes this third mount on a CNC milling machine, which also removes 1 mm of aluminum from the generator housing. But this is not just a waste of time. Both before and now, installing this type of generator required machining the crankcase around the camshaft boss. However, since the generator is now 1 mm slimmer in this area, the crankcase machining now requires 1 mm less. All these changes have undoubtedly improved the generator, but that's far from the most important change. The most important thing is that this generator now provides excellent charging at idle, even with the headlights on. To achieve this, the development team had to significantly upgrade the technical components of this generator. However, if you think they simply rigged the built-in regulator relay, you're wrong. This regulator relay is completely standard and can easily be replaced with a similar one purchased at an auto parts store.
