¿Es posible tener políticas públicas de largo plazo en el Perú? | Claudia Cornejo | TEDxTukuy

“A country’s achievements are not a matter of chance,” says former Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Claudia Cornejo. In her more than twenty years as a public servant, she witnessed the creation of that ministry and the consolidation of its main strategies for positioning Peru on the world stage: from the signing of Free Trade Agreements with key countries for our exporters to the development of a national brand that is now recognized and admired internationally. In this brief overview of the sector’s history, Cornejo demonstrates the benefits of having public policies that are sustainable over time and prioritize the interests of citizens. Claudia studied Political Science at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, USA. Her foray into the public sector began in 2002 with the creation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, where she held various positions and ultimately led the ministry during the administration of Francisco Sagasti in 2020. She has served as General Manager of CONFIEP (National Confederation of Private Business Institutions) and is a co-founder of the organization Conscious Capitalism. She is a member of Vital Voices, an organization that brings together leading and influential women in politics from around the world.
