Laguna Bay Loop (via Jala-Jala) Using A Brompton Folding Bike For A Cause. 200kms with Barong Biker #Brompton #LagunaLoop #BarongBiker #SmileTrain Join me as I bike around Laguna Bay (reverse route) using a Brompton folding bike with 16" wheels to cover 200kms for the benefit of children born with a with a cleft lip and palette through SmileTrain.org and with Team Audax Randonneurs Philippines. Normally when I do the reverse Laguna Loop (see previous video), I take shorter but steep climb of Mabitac rather than the long flat of Jala-Jala. But that would only let me cover 175kms. This ride was particularly challenging because apart from needing to exert extra effort than normal to maintain an average speed of 20-25, I stupidly configured my cyclometer to 14x2.00 wheels than 16.5 wheels. I thought I was really riding slow because of my slow speed, but when I got to Makati I was still short of 12kms that's why I had to make a detour to MOA to cover this shortfall. And when I got arrived at the finish line, I was still short of 2kms! So I had to loop around a street just to finally get to 200km! This ride reminded me why I seldom use the Brompton outside the city! haha But it also showed that there is still lots of patience and resilience left in my older tank :) Thank you to all those who have supported me on this ride especially donors who have helped raise the funds I pledged to smiletrain.org.
