In the original Mortal Kombat cannon, it was stated that since the Mortal Kombat tournament (a means for one realm to legally invade another) was held only once in a century, the champion would be granted eternal youth by the Elder Gods in order to participate in future tournaments. Johnny's extraordinary power level does not come from the Elder Gods. It's all his own. He's had over six centuries to build upon and perfect his technique. Just like in the Marvel Comic's Exiles, not all parallel realities move at the same "speed". In may be 1813 in one reality and 37,000 B.C. in the one right next to it. Earth 7695-18, Johnny's world, is over six hundred years "ahead" of Earth 7695-616, the world that we consider to be "our" Mortal Kombat. Johnny's extraordinary power level does not come from the Elder Gods. It's all his own. He's had over six centuries to build upon and perfect his technique.
