Broader state of affairs in crime-ridden communities
Deputy Police Minister Cassel Mathale says issues raised at a recent crime prevention imbizo in Atlantis serve as a reflection of the broader state of affairs in crime-ridden communities. Atlantis, like many other neighbourhoods in Cape Town, has been battling an ongoing gang problem. The area, along with Samora Machel, was identified as a key venue for the two-day ministerial imbizo. The gathering brought together all three spheres of government and various departments, with the aim of addressing the root causes of gang violence and crime in these communities.
