This is the story of Ethan, a 10-year-old boy who survived perched in a tree in the middle of the storm. When he saw the Civil Guard officers, he said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." It was early in the morning when José Luis, a neighbor, found the boy. He explains that he nearly had a heart attack when he saw him on the other side of the Alberche River. He quickly alerted the authorities, and they arrived at the private property. The boy held on for hours "like a brave man," he told RTVE. He is now recovering in the hospital with his sister and mother. Ethan's father is still missing.
