Anahuac, the Alligator Capital of Texas

The area around the historical town of Anahuac has ideal habitat for alligators and coastal birds. The Shoveler Pond Loop is one of the best places to see them in the state. If you're interested in viewing alligators, I recommend going on a sunny day when it's at least 60 F outside.
