80 horsepower. Shaft drive. Air cooled in 2026. The Moto Guzzi V85 Strada loses every spec-sheet fight in its class, and I still didn't want to hand the key back. Every rival makes more power for the money. Most cost less. On paper, the Strada has no case. This review is about why the paper is wrong: the last air-cooled, shaft-drive adventure bike you can buy new, and who it's genuinely right for. I've owned 80 motorcycles over 35 years, including four Guzzis, and I've ridden to the factory at Mandello del Lario. I rode the V85 Strada through Seattle, around Lake Washington, into Georgetown, through the SR-99 tunnel, and back across Highway 520. This is a real-world review, gripes included: the cheap switchgear, the average suspension, the wind buffeting at 6ft, and the rear stand problem nobody mentions.
