Early Spring Mountain Railroading - Trains on Stevens Pass

Back in early April of 2026 me and some friends went up Stevens Pass for a usual day of railfanning. We started the day at Deception Creek where we caught an Eastbound oil empty come through a rock cut. After that we stayed there to catch Amtrak 7 with the one and only 301 leading the train. We then made our way to Foss River where we caught an Eastbound coal empty. Then we raced over to Skykomish to catch another Eastbound oil empty come through the main skykomish crossing. On our way back home we stopped in Sultan to catch the return trip for the 301, which was turned into Amtrak 8 in Seattle. Enjoy!
