What a celebration for two of the writers who've published for the first time. GBW Publishing, LLC is a fierce advocate for breaking stigmas of all kinds. Owner, Nic, was diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder in her 20's and has struggled to get her life to a point of stability. She is honored to present these guests. @gretchen Holmes struggled with being medically obese for many years. She shares about the way she was treated in public, by medical staff, and her own inner challenges. Having shed 100lbs, she is here to show us that we are more than a stigma. She teaches medical students at SNHU and believes a book like ours would benefit medical students, helping them better understand the non-clinical parts that occur when dealing with a diagnosis. @leigh schidell is an Army Veteran helicopter repairperson who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder later in life. She talks about her journey on and off medication, and how her love of learning new things helped her to manage these illnesses. From photography to developing educational resources and operating drones, Leigh has wonderful life experiences to share. @yvette leal's chapter is titled, The Bipolar Teacher. Diagnosed much later in life, she heavily researched whether or not there were other bipolar teachers who had shared their story. Nothing was to be found. She speaks out in depth about the way this illness has affected her in the classroom and her marriage. This chapter was a gift to her from her husband @gabe leal, and what greater way to support your partner than to bear witness.
