Channel Islands Adventure | Scorpion Point Cove | Santa Cruz Island, California My wife and I had an incredible time exploring this unique National Park starting out with an amazing boat ride. We saw over 50 dolphins closeup and a rare Minke whale in the distance. We saw many endemic species like the Island Fox and the Island Scrub Jay. The 2 mile loop we did was beautiful and offered many gorgeous views of the ocean with brown pelicans flying overhead. Snorkeling the kelp forests was an experience although rather cold and difficult to see through the murky water. It would have been better out deeper past the thick kelp areas.
