DESOLATION WILDERNESS | Pyramid Peak | 9 lakes in one day?!
Complete vlog of a 14.6 mile day hike in Desolation Wilderness, July 2026. We started and finished on-trail, and spent about 7 hours off-trail and saw 9 lakes!! It blows my mind how close this place is to Sacramento. It feels outerwordly and is a total granite playground once you get into it. As always, do your best to leave no trace when you're out exploring and be safe when off (or on) trail. We carry a Garmin In-Reach and use Gaia GPS maps.
