Altnabreac station closed November 2023 due to boundary dispute. I cycled there from Scotscalder!

Altnabreac station was closed, or mothballed, between November 2023 and April 2025 due to a land ownership/boundary dispute between the owners of the station house and Network Rail. The situation has escalated into legal procedings and court cases, so I went there on 28th February 2025 to see what the station was like when it was closed. Some things had changed since my previous visit in September 2023 - especially having to cycle there from Scotscalder station which is not exactly nearby! See my journey to Scotscalder and the cycle ride from there to Altnabreac. #altnabreac #scottish highlands #land ownership dispute PLEASE NOTE that I have posted a caption at 5:00 to 5:10 correcting an assumption I had made while filming, about an interdict. (Play film with subtitles to see this) If you do your own reasearch, do not confuse this case with other court proceedings in the area concerning events at Lochdhu Lodge, about a mile away. As far as I know there is no connection. The local newspaper The John O'Groat Journal has been a source of information, and I've included a number of screenshots in my film. There are sometimes promotional on-line subscription offers if you want to follow events in Caithness. https://www.johnogroat-journal.co.uk/ In my film I mention two YouTube channels - Altnabreac cover-up contains a lot of films posted by the owners of the station house, including confrontational scenes with Network Rail and BT Police. Altnabreac Uncovered focused on reporting court hearings and has a range of allegations against individuals, although it's not clear who is behind that. This Channel was taken down in December 2025 due to a coyright breach. There's an alternative channel called Altnabreac Towers or Altnabreac News Channel which attempt to cover the same ground.    / @altnabreac      / @altnabreactowersminiseries   #altnabreac #railways #train #scotland #travel #scotrail #networkrail #altnabreacstation #caithness #scotrail Music track is Mediterranean View by Everet Almond, downloaded royalty-free from YouTube Studio. These are:-    / @vanmanyo   who specialises in documenatry-style films about rail franchises, and    / @joedanhirst   who has fun exploring transport networks.
