Spring Vacation in Lisbon & Cascais
Had such an amazing time in Portugal last spring that I had to go again this year! Join me as we frolic through Lisbon & the nearby coastal town of Cascais. This is the perfect vlog for anyone who loves to eat, shop, drink coffee, take pictures and just enjoy a new place! Cascais Itinerary Absolutely loved our time in Cascais a seaside town only 45 minutes outside Lisbon. We spent 3 nights in Cascais and loved every minute. Sharing our itinerary below but we really just scratched the surface. [GET THERE] We spent €20 on an Uber but there are trains and busses that go on a regular schedule. [STAY] albatroz — absolutely stunning hotel with amazing ocean views, heated pool; comfortable spacious rooms, a bar & restaurant and incredible service [COFFEE] fabrica (great pastries and breakfasts) unity coffee — delicious coffee roasted on site lusophonica (radio station coffee shop right by Santa Maria lighthouse) [EAT] hifen — lots of delicious flavorful small plates & a view of beach Cantinho de Avillez — the atmosphere & food was incredible pergola — a beautiful garden bar with indoor & outdoor dining the vibes were amazing grelhas — amazing ocean view for lunch if you walk to Farol de Guia [DO] Enjoy the pool at Albatroz or head to the beach Stroll through town Hike to the Farol de Guia (red & grey lighthouse) where you’ll pass the iconic Santa Maria lighthouse and Boca de Inferno on your way. Stop & grab lunch by Casa de Guia before walking back Have a spa day at Real Spa Cascais Lisbon Itinerary Combining a few of my absolute favorite things we ate, saw, did and where we stayed from my past two Lisbon trips into one guide you can save for your next trip. I adore this city and can’t wait to come back. As a photographer who loved to eat, drink coffee and shop this city is perfection. [GETTING THERE] Ubering from the airport is super easy and affordable ~ €20 [STAY] Santiago Alfama Memmo Príncipe Real [COFFEE & BRUNCH] The Folks — our favorite spot for breakfast (we went most mornings). They have a couple locations across the city all with their own unique vibe. The food is excellent and so is the coffee. We literally at the scrambled egg breakfast every morning became we couldn’t get enough. Fabrica — excellent coffee. if you want to try something different we loved the cafe limonada Dramático — a tiny coffee shop with the cutest vibes & excellent coffee Seagull method — delicious brunch & very cute aesthetic [EAT] Pomme eatery — loved the atmosphere and fresh flavorful small plates Mini Bar — a speak easy restaurant from Jose Allives with an eclectic menu. The tempura asparagus was a surprise favorite with a whipped lemon aioli. Prado — a gorgeous space with incredible unique dishes. We opted for the tasting menu which was phenomenal. The mackerel with olive and green apple was a highlight. I also tried the Port & Tonic cocktail which might be a new favorite. Service was incredible. We didn’t have a bad meal but I think this was my favorite of the trip. [DO & SHOP] Lisbon Flea Market (Saturday and Tuesday) — so many fun antiques and my favorite part is the artisan market. This year I found @madebyjazzy ceramics. She had the most amazing collection of shell, floral and blue and white pieces Food Tour (secret food tours) — on my first trip to Lisbon we did a food tour & absolutely loved it. Such a fun way to explore a city, learn about local cuisine and try places you wouldn’t know to look for LX factory for lunch — LX has a ton of great shops and food options. I like saving this for the end of the trip because I can grab last minute gifts and it also has my favorite film lab @carmacitafilmlab so I can get my photos developed. Ceramica Factory has a couple locations throughout the city & has lots of beautiful ceramics made in Portugal [EXPLORE] Barrio Alto — lots of food and coffee shops Príncipe Real — beautiful views, great shopping, beautiful tile buildings Alfama — oldest part of the city, very cute, great for photos and lots of shops and cafes. Chiado — busiest more touristy part of the city but good cafes and restaurants.
