The maximum usable output power for a Level 4 Amateur Radio Operator is 10W. However, since most commercially available radios are rated at 5W, it's virtually impossible to communicate without an external antenna. I wondered if it would work in a car, but it proved challenging. I thought it might improve with a car antenna, so I purchased one from AliExpress, installed it, and tried radio communication. Car antennas seem quite tricky to install. Since I did it myself, without professional help, there were many shortcomings. While there hasn't been a dramatic improvement in transmission and reception, I'm still learning about the timing, terminology, and etiquette of amateur radio by listening to other amateur radio operators.
