Thank you for watching. Below is a description of the video from Mr. B, the filmer. This is footage of the Shinonoi Line filmed on April 21, 1985. The first footage was taken at Tazawa Station. The line has double track only between Tazawa and Akashina, with the rest of the line being single track. From 02:09, footage is taken between Akashina and Saijo, but a new route was constructed on this section in 1988, so the footage is of the old line. The old line had a switchback Shiozawa Signal Station along the way, but the new line is mostly tunnels, making it unsuitable for filming. From 05:04, footage is taken of Hao Signal Station, which was located between Kanmuritsuki and Obasute. This signal station also had a switchback system, but has since been abolished. From 18:26, footage is taken near Obasute Station. Although the footage was taken 40 years ago, it's clear that time has passed, as all the rolling stock that was running on it has now been scrapped.
