One Breath From Remembering - Dark Souls Inspired Orchestral
ONE BREATH FROM REMEMBERING - DARK SOULS INSPIRED DARK ORCHESTRAL FOR WRITING & DEEP FOCUS "One Breath From Remembering" is a 7-track Dark Souls and Bloodborne inspired dark orchestral album following a cursed wanderer crossing an endless snowfield, one lantern held out over ground he has almost certainly crossed before. He does not know he has crossed it before — that was part of what was taken. He keeps the snowfield new by forgetting it, and so he searches the same mile forever and feels only the looking, always the looking. Ask him what he is searching for and he could not tell you, not because he guards it but because it is gone from him: not the thing itself, but the name of it, the face of it, the shape it would make if he found it. What is left is only the pull. And here is what he does not know, what the curse took first — the thing he is looking for is himself. He does not know he has crossed it before; that is part of what was taken. He keeps the snowfield new by forgetting it, and so he can search the same mile forever and never feel the repetition, only the looking, always the looking. Ask him what he is looking for and he could not tell you — not because he is guarding it, but because it is gone from him, not the thing itself but the name of the thing, the face of it, the shape it would make if he found it. That man is who the searching is for — not a place, not a face in the snow, but the self he was before the white got into his memory and wore it smooth as a stone. Something in him still knows that man existed. Something in him still reaches for where that man used to be, the way your tongue finds the gap where a tooth was. He aches in the shape of who he used to be, and he has gone looking for that shape across a hundred miles of snow, in the one direction it cannot be found, because the man he is looking for is the man doing the looking, and you cannot walk far enough to arrive at yourself. And yet, tonight, something happens. It is small. The wind drops for a moment, the way it sometimes does, and in the sudden hush the lantern light steadies, and he stops. He does not know why he stops. But for the length of one held breath something rises in him — a warmth, a room, a voice saying a word that might have been his name, the whole of a life pressing up against the underside of the ice all at once — and his face, which has not changed in a very long time, almost changes. He is on the edge of it. He is one breath from remembering everything. The man he was is right there, just beneath, reaching up to meet the man he is — and the wind returns. And it's gone. Whatever surfaced goes back under, smooth and white and closed, and he is left holding a lantern in the snow with his heart beating a little harder for a reason he can no longer locate. He does not weep; you cannot weep for what you cannot remember. But something in him is heavier now than it was a moment ago, the specific weight of an almost, and he will carry that small new weight without ever knowing what put it there. He lifts the lantern again. He walks on. Somewhere, something — his heart leans, and he follows, out across the snow that will be new to him again in an hour, looking with great patience and no memory for the one thing the whole white world cannot give back: the man who set out looking, so long ago now that even the snow has forgotten his name. This is a Human-led creative project. All worldbuilding, character development, lore, and narrative direction are original human work.
