BYD SONG PLUS 2026: o que tem de NOVO no SUV híbrido de R$ 250 mil?

The BYD Song Plus has just arrived in Brazil for the 2026 model year. The plug-in hybrid midsize SUV is now R$5,000 more expensive than the previous model and now costs R$249,990. The main new feature is the new design, which resembles its bigger brother, the Song Plus Premium. In addition, the SUV now features a head-up display and a new sound system with 10 speakers. The dimensions are the same: 4.77 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.67 meters high, with a 2.76 meter wheelbase. The trunk capacity has decreased from 574 liters to 552 liters, thanks to the adoption of new subwoofers there. In order to remain an intermediate option, the Song Plus maintains the plug-in hybrid set (with external charging) unchanged. In other words, the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 110 hp and 13.2 kgfm of torque, combined with an electric motor with 180 hp and 32.3 kgfm, moves the car most of the time. The combined power is 235 hp, while the torque is 40.1 kgfm. Since the 2025 line, the BYD Song Plus has been equipped with a larger 18.3 kWh battery (previously it was 8.3 kWh). This allows the vehicle to travel up to 100 km without using a single drop of fuel, according to the brand's data. Inmetro, on the other hand, reveals an electric range of 63 km. The average consumption is 14.9 km/l in the city and 12.1 km/l on the highway.
