Laser Cut Stained Glass Style… But It’s Actually Wood

Most people assume this is stained glass. It’s not. In this video, I create a stained glass–style portrait entirely from wood using my CO₂ laser, layered staining, and a detailed assembly process that gives the illusion of glass. From concept sketch to final gloss coat. This piece pushes the limits of what plywood can look like — using grain, light, and contrast to mimic stained glass without a single piece of glass involved. If you're into woodworking, laser engraving, or experimental art techniques, this one’s for you. Let me know in the comments — did you think it was glass at first?
