Local Action for Rapid Emergency Support in Bihać
This inspiring video showcases how the City of Bihać and its Centre for Social Protection became pioneers of a locally financed emergency cash transfer programme embedded within the formal social protection system. In cooperation with UNICEF, and through coordinated efforts of the city authorities and the local civil protection unit, Bihać demonstrated that local governments can lead in protecting their citizens during crises. The initiative shows how proactive planning and anticipatory financing can provide rapid, inclusive, and effective support when it is needed most. A compelling example of resilience, leadership, and local ownership in emergency preparedness and response.
