Pope Francis’s funeral to take place at St Peter’s Basilica on Saturday morning

Pope Francis's funeral will be held on Saturday, 26 April, at 10am (9am Irish time) at St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican has said in a statement. Several world leaders have announced they will travel to Rome for Pope Francis's funeral, which is likely to also draw a huge crowd in the square in front of St Peter's Basilica at the Vatican. Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re will preside at the mass, which will be concelebrated by Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, and priests from across the world.
