2nd Stakeholder Consultation on Amendments to Belize's Refugees Act
The Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour, in collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and with financial support from the Government of Japan, has launched a series of stakeholder consultations to review and update Belize's Refugees Act. The consultations bring together representatives from government agencies, international organizations, academia and civil society to examine proposed amendments to the legislation and gather recommendations before the reforms move forward. Participants include representatives from UNHCR, Humana People to People, several government ministries and the University of Belize.
