Hector Montalvo Pérez is the first Tresero that I received a lesson from thirteen years ago in Holguín. Back then he was a staple in local clubs playing with a number of different groups. I remember watching him in awe, his technique seemed utterly flawless. He's exactly the kind of player I wanted to be. When I came across this video of him playing 'Hasta Siempre' I had to do a tutorial. Hector is tuned to C however he's a bit sharp. Set your tuner to 449Hz and it should be bang on. That's how I'm tuned for the tutorial. In the video I am playing my latest Baby Taylor Tres.
