Raising our children free from limiting ideas about gender supports them to thrive and live with unlimited potential. As parents, grandparents, and caregivers, we can support our kids to thrive by challenging outdated ideas about gender. We can provide our kids with a wide variety of toys and books, letting them choose how they want to play. We can support all kids to feel safe expressing their feelings, encourage them to be caring, celebrate role models they can look up to, and role model respect by sharing the jobs equally at home. When we give children the space to dream big, they see more opportunities for their futures. This animation is from a 5-part series created by Women’s Health Loddon Mallee for the Raise Them Equal project. Raise Then Equal provides families, communities, and early learning settings with a range of fun and engaging tools, including animations and conversation starter activities, to support children to reach their full potential and grow up free from limiting ideas about gender.
