Record Rural - O uso da semente de urucum: de corante à protetor solar

Annatto is a plant native to South America, more specifically the Amazon region. Its popular name originates from the Tupi word "uru-ku," meaning "red." A red pigment is extracted from the seeds and used by Brazilian and Peruvian indigenous tribes as a dye and also as a skin protector against the intense sun rays in that region. Today it is widely used in the food industry. Reporter Edson Godoy will show us how annatto cultivation is going here in Mato Grosso do Sul. See more on the portal: www.msrecord.com.br
