Binary Acoustics EP321-MEMS - Stark Precision

passive , and a single direct-drive MEMS driver. The definition of a MEMS driver is “A MEMS driver is a specialized, compact electronic circuit designed to control and actuate Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices, such as microphones, speakers, or mirrors, by converting electrical signals into precise mechanical motion.” Taken at face value, this description doesn’t seem all that different from some other driver technologies. The details is important here. MEMS drivers usually require high-voltage DC/DC converters, amplifiers, and programmable filters. What Binary Acoustics has done is implement a MEMS driver that doesn’t need all this extra gear to get it going. No need for an extra external amplifier, and the “Direct Drive” aspect is that is can be driven by any typical headphone amplifier. That was a mouthful, but if you have read any of my other reviews, you know that driver tech takes a back seat to implementation every time. Is the MEMS drive here just for marketing, or does this IEM actually sound good? The tuning offers a neutral-bright, if not W-shaped tuning sound signature with great extensions at both ends of the frequency range. Notable is the exceptional clarity of the treble, and the EP321 presents an analytical, yet still musical, presentation. The EP321 is fairly easy to drive, but does scale with source, and I preferred a warmer yet resolving source for extended listening. I would recommend trying different sources, tips and cables to get the best synergy, as the EP321 displayed sensitivity to these changes. #inearmonitors #audioequipment #earphones #audioreviews Find us at:   / 1035584318647622   https://forum.hifiguides.com/t/canuck... intro music credits "Cosimo Fogg - Jazzaddicts" is under a Free To Use YouTube license / cosimo-fogg Music powered by BreakingCopyright: • 'Jazzaddicts' by Cosimo Fogg 🇰🇷 | Jaz... 🔺
