A Week in Tōhoku: The best of Japan's North! | Aomori, Yamagata, Morioka

Let's travel to Japan's hidden gem of an area: Tohoku! This cluster of prefectures gets visited by less than 2% of the total volume of tourists in the country, and honestly I strongly recommend you become a part of this percentage before the masses learn about everything Tohoku has to offer! We've taken JR trains between Yamagata, Aomori and Morioka and learned that this area is absolutely jam packed with culture, stunning nature begging to be hiked upon, photo opportunities, local food specialties and also.. dogs! For reference, we've done this trip at the end of October - as you can tell, autumn and autumn leaves happen much sooner in Tohoku than they do in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka!
