#mg #batterytech #ev I attended MG’s first Tech Day, where MG announced the introduction of semi-solid state batteries, with the new MG4 Urban EV being the first model to use this new technology. Semi-solid state batteries are lighter, more energy dense, efficient and use less flammable liquid, making them safer too. As well as new EV technology, MG is working on the next generation of Hybrid+ powertrains, still featuring a 1.5 petrol engine, but this time 3 cylinders instead of 4 & now turbocharged, we will hear more about this later in the year. I’ve already reviewed the current MG3 & ZS Hybrid+ models, which impressed me with their nippy performance and value! Higher fuel economy and lower emissions to meet Euro-7 are the focuses for the next generation. It was great to see the MG4 Urban EV, a car which starts at just £23,495, as well as the all-new MGS9, the largest MG - a 7 seater PHEV starting from just over £34,000!
