Huichol Peyote Dance - Guadelupe De La Cruz Rios
Guadelupe De La Cruz Rios, 1915-1999, was named "Ushama" in her native Huichol tongue. Born in the Sierra Madre of Nayarit, Mexico, she descended from a long ancestral lineage of "maraa kate" (healers and singers). She became well known in the late 1960's as the co-creator of the now famous Huichol Yarn Art.
