Droidcon had its first Canadian edition on April 9-10, 2015 in Montreal. It was organized by Mirego http://www.mirego.com/en We had Jake Wharton and Jesse Wilson from Square doing an awesome keynote about Open Source. More videos are coming soon. Subscribe! An Open Source Advantage: A successful app takes a lot of code. The best developers don’t write all of that code themselves; instead they rely on open source to solve all of the common problems. That way they can direct their energy on application-specific tasks. Jesse Wilson Jesse works on Square Cash in Waterloo, Canada. He's worked on open source at Square (OkHttp, Dagger, Wire) and before that Google (Gson, Guice, Guava). Jesse's currently moonlighting on Rounds, a meticulous score pad app (roundsapp.com). Jake Wharton Android developer for Square working on Square Cash. Has a long-time severe allergy to boilerplate code and for years has been raising awareness on the issue as well as leading efforts to eradicate this horrible disease that plagues modern developers.
