Coloring with Watercolor in Rita Berman’s Coloring Book | Trying a New Watercolor Primer

In today’s coloring video, I’m coloring with watercolor in Rita Berman’s beautiful coloring book Das Land der kleinen Abenteuer. I’m also trying out a watercolor sizing primer to see how it performs on coloring book paper — and I was really excited to test this one. I first saw this specific watercolor sizing demonstrated by Lucy Fox Arts in one of her videos, where she showed it working successfully in coloring books. I’ve tried several other products over the years, but they all came with issues — some lifted too easily, and others left a rough, sandpaper-like texture that made it impossible to use pencil over the top. This watercolor sizing is actually the same type of sizing used by watercolor paper manufacturers to help paper properly accept watercolor, so I was very hopeful that it would solve those problems. I also add details with Derwent Chromaflow pencils to finish everything off.
