Background Information for Introduction Paragraph
When writing an introduction paragraph, there are three parts that are needed: A good hook and some background information followed by a thesis statement. For the background information section you will want to explain the basic information about your topic, give definitions of words or ideas that need some explanation to help your reader understand better what you want to present in your essay, and try to approach the essay from the perspective of the reader. What do they know? What do they not know? These things can be explained briefly in the background information section of an introduction paragraph.
