Dall'Irpinia all'Albania, Luca il pompiere eroe dei terremoti: "Spero sempre che sia l'ultimo"

Luca Bacci is the head of the Fire Brigade's canine unit and was among the first to arrive in Durrës after the earthquake that struck Albania. "We worked all night," he says, as the search for survivors continues, thanks also to the help of firefighters, Civil Protection, and the Red Cross sent from Italy. "My first earthquake was the one in Irpinia, in 1980. Since then, I've been through them all: Amatrice, L'Aquila, Rigopiano," he adds. A lifetime of "chasing" earthquakes. "But I always hope it's the last," he concludes. Video by Antonio Nasso Subscribe to Repubblica: https://s.repubblica.it/scopridipiu . Podcasts, investigations, newsletters, and much more.
