Najeonchilgi, a traditional Korean craft that involves decorating lacquered wood by inlaying mother-of-pearl pieces into various patterns, hails from Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, where a tradition spanning over 400 years has been preserved. Master Song Bang-ung, Important Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 10 and a master of the "kkeumeumjil" technique, has dedicated himself to this single path for 60 years.
